How do I get a MMSI number?
A Maritime Mobile Service Identity (MMSI) number is only issued to vessels fitted with Digital Selective Calling (DSC) and/or (Satellite) Ship Earth Station (SES) equipment.
In order to get an MMSI number you will need to be in possession of a valid Ship Radio Licence.
Existing licence holders can obtain an MMSI number in the following ways:
i) Online registered users can update their Ship Radio Licence with DSC equipment which will automatically generate an MMSI number
ii) Complete and submit an amendment form to the Ofcom Licensing Centre.
